ReceptionistAnswers phones, directs calls, takes messages, greets visitors, often has light typing or filing duties, may schedule appointments, may keep delivery and visitor logs
SecretaryProvides clerical and office support to an individual, maintains close day-to-day relationship to the activities of that individual, has general knowledge of office routine and performs duties in accordance with organizational procedures, works fairly independently
Administrative AssistantProvides office support to a department and usually reports to the head of that department, performs various secretarial functions, has detailed knowledge of office procedures and assists in applying policies within the department, has general knowledge of and assists with completing department projects
Data Entry ClerkKeys specific fields of information (both alpha and numeric) into databases, sometimes needs to generate reports upon request
Sales SupportProvides secretarial office support to an individual or team of sales representatives, be familiar with company product or services, may coordinate sales calls, record sales made and process paperwork in relation to those sales
Customer ServiceReceives written or verbal purchase orders from customers, may quote prices, determine availability of product, advise customers of expected time frames, maintain an order file, often responds to customer complaints by doing research and verifying order accuracy.
Executive AssistantProvides high-level secretarial support to an individual, able to independently handle correspondence and scheduling, communicates officer’s decisions to entire company, has detailed knowledge and oversight of office procedures, has detailed knowledge of office projects
